Become a TBBHF Volunteer!
Volunteer Opportunities are Open for 2025

Thanks to our community, the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival is celebrating another year of the Festival! We need your continued support to grow and provide enhanced cultural enrichment activities to the community.

Be a part of something BIG – Volunteer!  Select the committee that is of interest to you. Committee meetings will begin in September. Once you make your selection, you will be contacted by that committee’s administrator.

All Committees meet prior to the Festival, once and/or twice per month, starting in September.

Sponsorship Committee

Recommend and assist with sponsorship applications and grant writing. Generate and distribute sponsorship packets. Meet, greet and ensure sponsors are comfortable while attending signature events. Connect with sponsors after January events for critiques and send "Thank you" communications.

Program Events Committee

Assist with Signature events planning and sub-committees; attend selected events for set up and break down. Coordinate with marketing and logistics for event needs.

Marketing & PR Committee

Assist with posting on all social media platforms, creating content; analytics reporting, virtual and physical community engagement; calendar listings; collaborating with videographer and photographer and onsite media. Pre and onsite interviews (TV, radio, digital, print, surveys, etc.)

Logistics Committee

Responsible for all things logistical for Signature/Partner events, to include pre and onsite set ups; break downs; signage, deliverables, etc.

January Only

Register and volunteer for selected Signature/Partner events in January. Group registration welcome with one submission.

Volunteer Committee

Assigned to coordinate with Marketing, Logistics and other festival needs, as assigned by Volunteer Committee coordinator(s).

All Volunteer Orientations will be virtual and the meeting link will be sent only to registered volunteers.
Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian register on your behalf and agree to the “Volunteer Terms and Conditions”. We do not recommend anyone under the age of 15 to volunteer.

    Thank you for volunteering with the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival (TBBHF). In accordance with our guidelines and policies the following terms & conditions and waiver are enacted regarding volunteers. Volunteers are those who are interested in providing a service, serving on a Festival Committee(s) and volunteering at a Festival event. This document applies to ALL Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival events.

    All information gathered, acquired and distributed at meetings and/or on behalf of TBBHF shall be the property of the Festival, is “confidential” and may not be shared without written consent.

    Volunteers must read and agree to the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival Volunteer Terms & Conditions and Waiver prior to reporting for any scheduled volunteer assignment(s).
