CEO of ScySec
Felice Flake, CEO of ScySec, has extensive experience in both the government and private sectors. She obtained her Master of Science in Cybersecurity in 2016. Felice was one of a few students to complete the program by fulfilling the academic requirements several months in advance of her peers. Felice also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Homeland Security. Felice’s is currently a candidate for her MBA with a focus on Information Security Management. She obtained her CompTIA Security+CE certification in 2012, and her other professional certifications include AchieveGlobal Certified Facilitator and a Certified Trainer through the University of Oklahoma/American Society for Training and Development now known as the Association for Talent Development. Felice’s experience and credentials coupled with her passion for her profession and community supported her evolution into founding her firm, ScySec.
She is a contributing author to the 2016 book, Women in Security, writing about information security, information technology, and cybersecurity. She also wrote the chapter on “Women in Supervisory Roles.” She has recently established the first Peerlyst Meetup group in the state of Florida. Felice is the President of the Tampa Bay Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) for the 2017-2019 term. She also serves as Chief Technology Officer for the Next Gen Cyber Foundation and is leading several projects supporting minorities on an international scale to join the cybersecurity profession. In November 2017, selected as a member of the National CyberWatch Center’s Curriculum Standards Panel (NCC-CSP) for the Cybersecurity Foundation Series, in the current Information Security Fundamentals (ISF) Standards Panel.
